Russian President Vladimir Putin unveiled three firm demands shortly after his private summit with Donald Trump in Alaska, outlining what Russia needs to end the war in Ukraine.
Trump, optimistic after the meeting, said Ukrainian President Zelenskyy could end the conflict if he wished. He also pointed to past decisions, especially regarding Crimea and NATO, as root causes.

Trump then joined Zelenskyy and several European leaders at the White House to discuss solutions.
Sources revealed to Reuters that Putin requires Ukraine to stop its NATO membership efforts, no Western troops on Russian soil, and full withdrawal from the Russian-controlled Donbas region.
In exchange, Russia would hold frontlines steady in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, areas where it holds the majority control.

These demands were announced alongside a NATO defense chiefs’ virtual meeting expressing strong alliance unity.
