Mitch McConnell Sounds Alarm Over Trump Administration’s Foreign Policy and Trade

Mitch McConnell, the longest-serving senator from Kentucky, has expressed grave concerns about the path America is on under President Trump. Drawing parallels with the early 20th century, McConnell cited the 1930s as a warning era marked by failed tariffs and rising global tensions.

He criticized the use of aggressive tariffs, likening Trump’s approach to that of Herbert Hoover, and pointed to growing hostility from nations like Russia and China against the US. McConnell fears the US is ill-equipped to face these challenges and emphasized the importance of avoiding defeat in Ukraine.

Highlighting his intent to concentrate on defense and foreign policy before retirement, McConnell calls for a return to “peace through strength” to maintain America’s global standing.
