Adair Mendes Dutra Junior’s Death Highlights Risks of Viral Cosmetic Surgery

Adair Mendes Dutra Junior, a Brazilian fashion influencer famed for his style and grooming content, died on October 3 after complications from “fox eyes” surgery—a cosmetic procedure aimed at giving the eyes a lifted, cat-like appearance. The surgery was performed in March by dentist Fernando Garbi.

Following the procedure, Junior frequently shared his recovery journey, which included painful swelling, bruising, and eventually an infection. His condition deteriorated, and he was hospitalized in São Paulo where he passed away. Prior to his death, he accused Garbi of malpractice and fraud in a legal complaint.
