Paloma Shemirani collapsed at home in July 2024, suffering a heart attack linked to untreated cancer. Paramedics reported that her mother, Kate Shemirani, repeatedly interrupted their attempts to care for Paloma, denying the cancer diagnosis and insisting Paloma was choking on food.

Kate, a former nurse removed from the NHS for COVID misinformation, influenced Paloma’s refusal of chemotherapy, opting instead for alternative therapies. Paloma’s brothers attribute her death to this influence.

The inquest also revealed a delay in emergency response since Kate first contacted a friend, not emergency services. The tragic case raises critical concerns about the impact of conspiracy beliefs on health outcomes.
