Debate Erupts After Passenger Sees First-Class Flyer ‘Bomb’ Economy Plus Bathroom Multiple Times

A United Airlines passenger sparked a wildfire of debate after sharing on Reddit about a first-class occupant repeatedly using the restrooms in the economy plus section, leaving behind strong odors and disrupting fellow travelers.

Flying always brings concern about bathroom breaks, especially when illness strikes or nerves flare. The confined space and limited facilities at 40,000 feet make such episodes awkward and sometimes unbearable for those nearby.

Similar incidents have made headlines before, including canceled flights due to passenger illnesses. Thousands of flights launch daily, but many fear the aftermath of a sudden stomach issue onboard.

The Reddit post described how the first-class passenger “bombed the economy plus bathroom five different times” while returning to the cleaner-smelling first-class area, calling it “class warfare.”

Commenters weighed in, with some blaming proximity to the toilets and others debating proper etiquette. Suggestions included quick flushing, running water with soap to control odors, and always using the air vent.

Plane restrooms’ small size and loud flushes make every bathroom visit obvious, meaning multiple flushes often announce a problem.

Still, listeners agreed it is better to flush and manage odors than to leave fellow passengers to suffer in discomfort.
