Three people were killed and eight injured after multiple gunmen opened fire at the Taste of the City Lounge in Brooklyn, New York, in the early hours of Sunday. The New York Police Department arrived at the scene shortly after receiving calls at around 3:30 a.m.
The deceased were all men, two identified to be 27 and 35 years old, while the third man’s age was not released. The eight injured victims were taken to hospitals with non-life threatening wounds.
Police have discovered at least 36 shell casings, confirming the involvement of multiple shooters. A firearm found near Bedford Avenue and Eastern Parkway is under investigation. So far, authorities have not made any arrests or named suspects.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch expressed regret over the tragedy but noted that shootings overall have been at a record low this year, calling the incident an anomaly.
