Deadly Incident at Yenagoa Hotel Raises Safety Concerns

The peaceful Igbogene neighborhood in Yenagoa was shaken after a young woman was found dead inside a hotel room. The tragedy took place on a recent Saturday and quickly caught the attention of residents and local authorities.

Sources say the woman had arrived at the hotel with a man described as a “Yahoo boy,” an internet fraudster, who soon left her alone in the room. Shortly after, the hotel manager discovered her dead, prompting immediate police involvement.

Musa Muhammad, the Bayelsa State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrival of officers and ongoing investigations. Though no suspects have been taken into custody yet, authorities are determined to uncover the truth. An autopsy has been scheduled to establish the cause of death.

Due to the mysterious circumstances and the man’s disappearance, foul play is suspected, but police await conclusive medical evidence.

This event has increased the community’s concerns regarding the presence and impact of fraudulent individuals known as “Yahoo boys,” believed to be involved in various criminal activities. Many locals are now calling for hotels to improve security, such as verifying guest identities and installing CCTV cameras.
