Ryan’s mother, Sandra, battled to change these restrictive rules but was met with resistance. After Ryan’s death, she became a strong advocate for children with asthma, pushing through legislation known as Ryan’s Law in Ontario. The new law mandates that schools develop asthma policies and allow students to carry their inhalers with proper doctor’s approval.
