Years Later, AJ Hutto Reveals What He Saw When His Mom Drowned Sister

AJ Hutto’s story is heartbreaking. When he was only seven, AJ witnessed his mother, Amanda Lewis, drown his sister Adrianna in their pool. His brave testimony in 2008 helped convict Amanda of first-degree murder.

Now 24, AJ recently shared his version of the events with The Daily Mail, standing firmly behind his childhood testimony. He also shared the drawing he made for the court, illustrating the tragic scene.

AJ described how Amanda held Adrianna’s face under the water. Despite being a child, AJ’s account was considered reliable by the judge. Some questioned the truthfulness, suggesting coaching, but AJ says he only told what he clearly saw.

Amanda received a life sentence plus additional years for the crime. She continues to claim the death was accidental, but bruises on Adrianna’s face and AJ’s words point to truth otherwise. AJ said the incident happened after Adrianna sprayed glass cleaner inside and angered their mother.

The children lived in poor conditions with minimal toys. AJ was later adopted, became a firefighter, and has cut ties with Amanda, refusing to call her his mother.

AJ describes his childhood as filled with trauma and unexpected abuse, while his new life is peaceful by comparison.
