Ali MacGraw was born Elizabeth Alice MacGraw in 1939 in New York. Raised in an artistic but difficult home, she worked her way through fashion before becoming a famous actress. Her breakthrough roles, especially the 1970 movie Love Story, made her a beloved star and awarded her major accolades.
She married film producer Robert Evans and had a son, Josh. But Ali’s life changed forever when she met Steve McQueen on the set of The Getaway. Their romance was passionate, and Ali chose to leave much of her career behind to support her family with Steve.
