When Reazjhana Williams went into labor, she hoped for a natural delivery. But when doctors lost track of her baby’s heartbeat, they rushed her into an emergency C-section. Her daughter Kyanni was born with a deep cut on her face, requiring immediate plastic surgery.

Instead of the usual first moments of bonding, Reazjhana had to watch as her baby was taken away for emergency treatment. The injury occurred because Kyanni’s head was pressed against the placenta wall during the procedure.
Doctors were shocked by the severity of the wound and had to use 13 stitches to repair it. The family is still coming to terms with the trauma and the baby’s discomfort.
Denver Health acknowledged the incident, noting that such complications can happen in emergency situations but reaffirmed their focus on mother and child safety. A GoFundMe page has been created to help cover the unexpected medical expenses.
