Viral Star Hailey Welch Sells Social Media Page for Over $300K, Fans Question Value

Hailey Welch, known as the Hawk Tuah girl, has reportedly sold a social media account linked to her brand for $325,000, sparking debate among her followers. Welch first gained fame in mid-2024 after a viral clip where she shared a memorable phrase about intimacy, which helped her build a large online presence and launch merchandise.

Recently, Welch faced backlash over her cryptocurrency project, $HAWK, which soared to a high market value before crashing dramatically. The coin’s sudden drop led to accusations of misleading investors, as it was allegedly unregistered with regulatory authorities.

The social media page HawkCoinX, associated with Welch, had close to 400,000 followers before being sold. The new owner renamed it ‘Up Only Memes’ and publicly posted the $325,000 purchase offer. While this sale is a financial gain for Welch, many fans on Twitter believe the buyer paid too much, arguing that the account’s worth does not justify such a high price. Comments ranged from calling the purchase foolish to predicting the page’s rapid decline in engagement.
