Neighbor’s Interference with Our Driveway Led to Federal Investigation

Jack and I had just moved into a small rental home in a quiet neighborhood when our new neighbor, Lindsey, showed up with cookies and a warning. She told us the HOA allowed only one car per driveway, even though both our cars fit easily. We thought it was odd but didn’t push back.

A few days later, we woke to tow trucks hauling our cars away. Lindsey stood nearby, smiling as if victorious. I calmly told her she owed us $25,000, pointing to a small government sticker on our cars that explained everything.

After reporting the incident, a federal agent arrived at Lindsey’s house early the next day. He informed her she was under investigation for interfering with a federal operation by having government vehicles towed. Lindsey claimed she didn’t know, thinking she was just enforcing neighborhood rules.

The agent explained the damage caused and warned her to stay put and preserve evidence. Lindsey was left stunned, and her once-proud home showed signs of neglect. Jack and I walked away, relieved that justice was underway.
