Virginia shared her thoughts with Variety, describing Michael as a man of contradictions—both fierce and tender, a poet and an outlaw. She emphasized that they mourn a beloved brother, not just a celebrity, and recalled the joy and laughter they shared.

Tributes from fellow actors poured in, with Harvey Keitel calling Michael a great American poet and Walton Goggins expressing deep love and admiration.
