A man stranded on a deserted island has only a Doberman and a pig as companions. The island offers plenty of food, fresh water, and pleasant weather, making survival possible. At first, he settles into a routine and forms a strange friendship with the animals. But as months pass, the isolation takes a toll on his mind.
His thoughts begin to shift, and he finds himself strangely drawn to the pig. Though he knows these feelings are inappropriate, the loneliness clouds his judgment. Whenever he tries to act on these urges, the Doberman steps in aggressively, protecting the pig and keeping the man from crossing lines.
The dog’s protective role frustrates him but also keeps him sane. One day, he spots a small boat and rescues an unconscious woman found inside. He cares for her until she regains strength, and she offers to repay him however she can.
Instead of asking for anything romantic, he requests she take the Doberman for a walk. Her surprise underscores the man’s true struggle: the Doberman has been his moral anchor, and his deepest wish is a brief break from its vigilant presence.
