My Ex Took My Dog Who Saved Me—I Got Revenge with One Clever Trick

I’m Ryan, and after a crushing accident, my dog Luna was my anchor, always loyal. When my girlfriend split, she stole Luna, though she never valued her. The cops wouldn’t help, but my one move made her regret crossing me.

The crash upended my life. One second, I’m driving, humming a tune; the next, I’m in a hospital, strapped to tubes. Doctors talked “injuries” and “rehab,” but it felt like my world collapsed. Early weeks were brutal. My girlfriend, Nicole, came daily, taking pictures, but her phone held her focus. Pain meds clouded my thoughts, but her absence hit harder. Back home, Luna, our curly-haired shelter pup, greeted me with wild joy. She stayed by me, her warmth easing my restless nights, her kind eyes a steady comfort.

Luna was my lifeline. Nicole helped at first, with soup and pillows, but soon grew frustrated. “Must Luna sleep here?” she’d grumble, brushing off fur. “She’s my strength,” I’d say, and she’d huff. As Nicole faded, Luna shone, guarding me during baths, waking me from crash dreams. The breakup hit as I got stronger. “I need to rediscover myself,” Nicole said, but her ex was back. I didn’t care until she said, “I’m keeping Luna.” I laughed. She’d complained about Luna’s smell, never cared for her. “She’s mine,” I said. Nicole smirked, “We adopted her together. She’s great for my stories.” I snapped, “She’s not a prop!”

Nicole left, but her texts came: “Give me MY dog!” “My followers miss Luna!” I blocked her. Luna was mine—I loved her, cared for her through fears. But during therapy, Nicole slipped in, dodging my cameras but not their audio. “Let’s go, girl,” her voice played. My heart broke. The police called it a “civil matter” due to our lease. At her parents’ house, Luna’s barks met a slammed door. Time to fight. Our shared savings, mostly mine, was her aim. I moved it to a crypto account, beyond her grasp.

Nicole texted, “WHAT DID YOU DO WITH MY MONEY?” I replied, “Return Luna, or it’s gone.” She cursed, but next day, she stood at my gate, silently handing Luna’s leash. Luna rushed to me, tail wagging. “Just a dog,” Nicole muttered, walking off. I smiled, petting Luna. “And you’re just my ex.” Later, I texted, “Market crashed. Money’s lost.” A fib—the funds were fine—but her pain felt right. Petty? Maybe. Worth it? Luna’s curled up beside me, happy. Her loyalty earned her place; Nicole lost hers seeing her as a post. Money recovers, but trust doesn’t. She learned that lesson.
