Chelsea O’Donnell, the 28-year-old daughter of comedian Rosie O’Donnell, has been sentenced to state prison after a judge revoked her probation. The decision was handed down on October 22, following a determination that Chelsea had violated the terms of the six-year probation sentence she received in March for multiple felony convictions.
The initial charges stemmed from a series of arrests in Wisconsin in the latter part of the previous year. Court records show Chelsea was arrested on charges including child neglect, possession of methamphetamine, resisting an officer, and felony bail jumping. After pleading guilty, she was ordered to remain sober, avoid contact with known drug users, and comply with all requirements of a treatment drug court program.

According to reports from officials involved with the case, Chelsea failed to meet these conditions. Sources cited allegations of new violations as the grounds for her termination from the treatment program, which directly triggered the probation revocation. She is currently being held in a county jail awaiting transfer to a Wisconsin state prison to begin serving her sentence.
In the wake of the sentencing, her mother, Rosie O’Donnell, issued a public statement. She shared a childhood photo of Chelsea on social media, expressing her continued love and support and asking for prayers. In a separate comment to People magazine, O’Donnell framed the situation as a struggle with addiction, stating the family continues to support Chelsea through “these horrible times.”
