A Life of Purpose: Celebrating Floyd Roger Myers Jr.

Floyd Roger Myers Jr. lived a life of multiple callings: as a childhood actor, a community leader, and, most importantly, a devoted father. His sudden passing at the age of 42 has left his family, friends, and community reflecting on a journey that was both impactful and inspiring, though tragically cut short. He is remembered not for a single role, but for the full and compassionate life he led.

Many were first introduced to Myers through his work on television. In 1992, he appeared on one of the most popular sitcoms of the era, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and also played a key role in the mini-series The Jacksons: An American Dream. These early achievements provided a foundation, but his true passion in adulthood was found in service. He co-founded The Fellaship Men’s Group, dedicating himself to helping other men find their strength and purpose.

His greatest source of pride was his family. A father to four children—Taelyn, Kinsley, Tyler, and Knox—Myers built his world around them. The deep loss felt by his family is evident in the words of his sister, who described him as a man whose kindness and laughter were a light to all who knew him. A fundraiser established in his memory aims to provide support for his children and honor the future he worked so hard to build for them.

In a heartfelt online post, his mother shared a photo of him with his children, her grief palpable. The mission of The Fellaship, which he helped create, will continue as a living tribute to his vision. Floyd Roger Myers Jr. leaves behind a legacy defined by love, service, and the positive imprint he left on every life he touched, a legacy that will undoubtedly be carried forward by his children and his community.
