Biden’s Successor Trump Roasted Over Azerbaijan-Albania Confusion by European Leaders

In Copenhagen, European statesmen treated President Donald Trump’s geographical confusion as a source of humor. The leaders joked about Trump mistakenly crediting a peace deal to Albania and Azerbaijan, two countries thousands of kilometers apart with no hostilities.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and PM Rama exchanged witty remarks with French President Macron about the slip-up. Macron expressed mock regret for overlooking “their peace deal” whenever Trump’s name comes up.

Despite these slip-ups, Trump facilitated a real peace accord between Azerbaijan and Armenia in August 2025, marked by an unexpectedly warm and touching Oval Office meeting where leaders embraced after weeks of negotiations.
