Trump Administration Orders Major Increase in Missile Production

The US military is stepping up missile production in an unprecedented way under President Trump’s leadership. Trump’s recent plan to rename the Department of Defense as the Department of War highlights the focus on preparing for future conflicts.

The Pentagon has pressed missile makers to sharply raise outputs of critical weapons including Patriot missile interceptors, anti-ship weapons, and precision strike missiles. This push is fueled by shrinking stockpiles from years of supporting Ukraine and tensions with China.

Deputy Secretary of War Stephen Feinberg spearheads this initiative, regularly meeting with defense contractors to speed up deliveries. Lockheed Martin is already increasing manufacturing but notes the need for steady government funding.
