Donald Trump Wins $24.5 Million Settlement From YouTube

After suing YouTube over his account suspension following the January 6 Capitol riot, Donald Trump will receive $22 million as part of a $24.5 million settlement. This money will be managed by the Trust for the National Mall, which is overseeing construction of a massive new ballroom for the White House.

The remaining $2.5 million will be paid out to other plaintiffs in the lawsuit, including conservative activist groups. Trump has announced plans to use the settlement funds primarily on the White House ballroom project, which is a high-profile and expensive renovation.

YouTube suspended Trump’s channel citing concerns over his posts encouraging violence, but later restored it in 2023. Other tech giants like Meta and X have also settled similar lawsuits with Trump this year, paying millions.
