Massive Rare Earth Deposit in Wyoming Could Make the US a Key Global Supplier

American Rare Earths Inc. has announced a groundbreaking discovery of rare earth elements in Wyoming’s Halleck Creek area, with a 2.63-billion-ton resource estimate highlighting high concentrations of neodymium, praseodymium, and other critical minerals.

These elements are vital for emerging and established technologies including smartphones, hybrid cars, aircraft systems, and energy-efficient lighting.

The project’s scale could meet US rare earth demand for a century or more, aligning with government strategies to build resilience in critical mineral supply.

CEO Don Schwartz called the find “beyond our wildest expectations,” with plans underway to expedite mining on Wyoming state land before advancing to federal permits for expanded development.
