Raymond Dehn’s nearly decade-long vaping habit led to an abrupt health crisis when his lung collapsed unexpectedly in September 2025. Starting at age 15, he quickly adopted vaping as a replacement for traditional cigarettes. His routine escalated with cannabis THC pens.

On one occasion after vaping in his car, Raymond experienced a severe stabbing pain in his shoulder blades. Despite initial attempts to ignore it, the pain intensified, and he blacked out in a mall.
Hospitalization revealed spontaneous pneumothorax. Doctors noted several similar cases recently linked to vaping. Adding to the trauma, Raymond spent multiple nights with a chest tube to restore lung function.
Now vaping-free, he warns youth about these hidden risks, emphasizing how normal vaping can rapidly lead to life-threatening complications.
