Ukraine’s Zelenskyy Sounds the Alarm at UN: Russian Aggression Expands, AI Weapons Loom

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s remarks at the 2025 United Nations General Assembly were filled with urgency and grave warnings about Russia’s military ambitions and technological developments fueling the conflict’s expansion.

Zelenskyy stressed that Russia’s war is intensifying and spreading beyond Ukraine, citing numerous breaches of NATO airspace, which raise the risk of a wider European confrontation.

He underscored the perilous rise of “AI-controlled drones” that could autonomously engage in warfare without human control, making regulation of emerging weapons an urgent global priority.

Ukraine announced plans to share its innovative drone technology with allied nations, positioning itself as a pivotal player in international security despite the devastation on its soil.
