Kremlin Rebukes Trump’s ‘Paper Tiger’ Label and Affirms Military Resolve in Ukraine

President Donald Trump’s recent remarks condemning Russian military efforts as “aimless” and calling Russia a “paper tiger” at the United Nations sparked a swift and unequivocal response from the Kremlin. Russia’s spokesperson Dmitry Peskov defended the country’s military campaign and dismissed the derogatory label.

Russia emphasized its identity as a “bear,” symbolizing strength and endurance, refuting any comparison to fragility or weakness implied by Trump’s comments. Moscow reiterated its commitment to its operations in Ukraine, underscoring a strategy aimed at minimizing casualties and preserving combat effectiveness.

Trump’s comments followed a meeting with Ukraine’s Zelenskyy, after which Trump voiced support for Ukraine reclaiming its territories with the help of European and NATO allies. The U.S. president criticized the Russian economy’s vulnerability and Putin’s leadership while pledging ongoing arms supplies to NATO.

Although acknowledging Trump’s push for peace, the Kremlin critiqued the sustainability of his rhetoric and downplayed the feasibility of Ukraine regaining full control of contested regions, highlighting the complexity and uncertainty fueling the conflict.
