Jimmy Kimmel returned to ABC on Tuesday after being taken off air for remarks on Charlie Kirk’s assassination. However, the comedian’s return hasn’t pleased former President Donald Trump, who openly criticized ABC’s decision and threatened legal action.
Trump’s post labeled Kimmel’s show as low-rated and politically biased toward Democrats. He vowed to challenge ABC again, by recalling a previous confrontation where he claimed to have obtained $16 million from the network.
The initial suspension of Kimmel’s show was triggered by his critique of the MAGA movement’s response to Kirk’s death. The ensuing national debate has highlighted issues of censorship, political pressure, and media freedom in the US.
