Born in 1928 in Eastman, Georgia, Tempest Storm endured poverty and early hardship. Running away from home as a teenager, she made her way to Los Angeles, where she was encouraged to perform striptease.

Choosing the name Tempest Storm, she quickly became one of burlesque’s brightest stars. Known for her signature red hair, elegance, and perfectly choreographed performances, she dazzled audiences across the U.S. and beyond.

Her popularity soared during the 1950s, earning her a million-dollar insurance policy on her famous curves.
