His daughter, Sandra Venegas, revealed that Alejandro was battling heart failure and kidney damage in late 2024. One week before Christmas, his condition worsened, and he was taken to the hospital.
Remarkably, despite being in intensive care, Alejandro focused on completing his grading, ensuring his students wouldn’t suffer from delays. Sandra posted a photo showing him in the ICU with a laptop on his lap amid medical tests. He feared his heart might stop but wanted to fulfill his duties.
