Nineteen-year-old Hannah Glass, a college freshman at Maranatha Baptist University, died after an allergic reaction to a peanut flour-containing brownie. The treat was meant to be gluten-free but contained a hidden allergen that tragically led to her death.
Despite using her EpiPen and receiving emergency care, Hannah’s condition deteriorated rapidly. Her lung collapsed, and she suffered severe, irreversible brain damage caused by lack of oxygen. Doctors fought to save her, but her injuries were too severe.
Hannah’s family has shared their loss to raise awareness of food allergies and the dangers of insufficient labeling. Her organ donations saved the lives of four individuals, turning tragedy into hope for others.
