Young Woman’s Final Calls Reveal Agony During Brown Bear At-tack

In 2011, Olga Moskalyova, aged 19, experienced a fatal encounter with a brown bear in Russia. She and her stepfather Igor were walking near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky when a mother bear attacked violently.

While Olga initially escaped, the bear killed Igor. Olga used her phone to call her mother, Tatiana, as she was dragged away by the bear and repeatedly attacked.

Tatiana recalled hearing bear growls and her daughter’s screams, initially thinking it was a cruel prank.

Olga’s messages told of the bear returning with cubs and her final words expressed a poignant goodbye to her mother.

Rescue teams arrived after her last call and a hunt for the bear followed.

This tragic case highlights the unpredictability of nature and the raw human emotion in such moments.
