The final minutes of Timothy Treadwell and his girlfriend’s life were captured on a chilling tape revealing their deadly encounter with a grizzly bear in Alaska. Treadwell, famed for living among bears for 13 summers, and Amie Huguenard were attacked in 2003 at Katmai National Park.
The audio shows Treadwell’s desperate cries and Amie urging him to play dead while the bear attacks repeatedly. The camera they carried recorded only sounds, suggesting the assault happened at night or with the lens covered.
The bear that killed them was found later with their remains inside, confirming the tragic event.
Food scarcity and the couple’s movements during the attack might have triggered the bear’s aggression.
Treadwell’s story remains a tragic testament to the risks of living closely with wild animals.
